James 5: 13-20 talks about praying for the sick, praying for one another for our sins and their sins. Prayer is one thing that I do not believe that we as Christian's do enough of, we talk about it but the follow through is not there. We live in this western world and have so much stuff and seem to lack for nothing, we believe, that prayer is not necessarily an important aspect of our walk with God. It seems that when we do pray it is the last resort at trying to resolve an issue that has risen in our lives when prayer should be the very first thing that we do.
If we aren't setting an example of praying for others to see how do we expect them to see how important prayer is in our walk with God. How many church's have prayer services where they gather around people and pray for them as the need arises? When we tell someone that we will pray for them do we remember to pray for them later? Would we not be better to pray for them right then when we are talking with them?
Prayer is our means of communicating with God and we need to utilize it all the time!
